Pivot is a network of Manitoba schools and industry partners on a mission to inspire youth to pursue careers in tech. A pillar of the Pivot model is workplace learning. Workplace mentorship help students expand their understanding of potential careers and help them to develop the skills and experiences they will need to thrive once hired. Industry partners are essential to the development of Pivot schools. Their involvement helps students understand the connection between their coursework, field experiences and the expectations of the workplace.
The first school in the Pivot network is Pembina Trails Early College (PTEC). The connections being made between the students at PTEC and their mentors serve as a motivator and support system to lead to greater student success.
